This week's market has once again shown an increase in load to truck demand in most markets. Load Availability increased 13.3% and Truck Availability increased 20.4%. When taking all averages, reefer rates dropped 1.7%, van rates dropped 1% and flatbed rates have increased 1.5% compared to last week's rates. Trends in the freight market have continued over the past seven weeks, with spot market rates staying relatively low. This was to be expected with the July slowdown. Smaller companies have felt the brunt of this market fluctuation due to higher operating costs and lower buying power.
